Stories of Freedom: Celebrating Cuban Heritage Month Through Our Community

Every shirt we make tells a story, but the ones that mean the most… are yours. This Hispanic Heritage Month, I wanted to highlight the stories of our community — those whose parents, grandparents, and bisabuelas risked everything for a better life. These are their words. Our shared legacy.

1. "You might be too little to understand it all now but I hope one day, when you’re much older, you will visit the place I was born & the home I grew up in and experience a FREE CUBA— one which I hope I get to see too."

2. "I remember learning that we were being held captive by a dictator as a little kid."

3.Soy Cubana por que mis raices me llaman

4. It’s an extraordinary price to pay for the American dream, but it was one that they did not take lightly, nor do I take for granted.

5. He is why I scream “Cuba libre”! He is why I am adamant on making sure my people are heard!

6. This was hours before getting in a plane without my parents, a fake Spanish passport and with a name I had to learn.

7. He hid for 19 days… trial and error trying to build a motor good enough to travel the 90 miles (and mind you he is in hiding, building a loud motor as quietly as he can).

8. We were born free thanks to our Abuelos! My grandparents left cuba in 1969.

9. I was too young to know how lucky I was to get on a comfortable plane with an American visa in my hand.

10. Our voices matter #SOSCuba #PatriaYVida 🇨🇺❤️
